Oak Tree Child and Family Services

Meet Darlene Meiners, MA, LPC
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Edgewood College in Madison, WI in 1994. Shortly after graduating I accepted a position with the State of Nebraska as a Child Protective Services Social Worker. After the birth of my first son, I decided to change career paths slightly and open a large child care center. I, with the help of 23 staff members, provided loving, high quality education and care to 84 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years. I had the honor of being in the lives of hundreds of children and families for over 18 years.
Once my own children were grown, I decided to change career paths slightly again. In 2013, I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Lakeland College in Madison, WI. I have found that even though the job descriptions of my careers have changed throughout the years, my love for working with children and families has stayed the same. I truly consider it a privilege to be able to provide continued quality care to those I work with no matter the environment or situation.
As a mental health counselor, I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. My promise to you is to listen with an open heart and mind, provide compassion focused/high quality care, and assist you in finding a way through your situation or experience. I consider myself an eclectic and compassion focused therapist. We will work together in partnership to find what tools and approaches work best for you in a caring and compassionate way.
When I am not at my office, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have three amazing children. Alex, my oldest, is a Hospice Registered Nurse. Zachary is in college working on several degrees in Computer Science after serving our country as a United States Marine, and Nicole is a Pediatric Registered Nurse. I have two fabulous daughter-in-laws, and my very first grandson. My husband, Chris, is a wonderful man that enjoys fishing, camping, boating, snowmobiling, and watching sports with me. We also have a very spoiled American Bulldog, Brandi, who is always a joy to take on walks and play with in the yard.
I look forward to hearing your story and getting to know you better!

Meet Kitty Sawyer, Certified Life Coach
I have worked with youth and adults for over 13 years in many different capacities. Life is sometimes challenging and having a helping hand to navigate it just makes sense. My approach to coaching is to help you discern what your needs and goals are and to guide you through the process of achieving them. It is important to find a method that works the way you work and not one that works for everyone else. Every journey starts with the realization that it's time to make a change.
I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals!
