Beth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services from Ottawa University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Walden University.
Beth believes that therapy can be challenging, and that connection and trust within the therapeutic relationship are essential for healing and growth. She strives to provide a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. Beth approaches her work with patience, humor, and a strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-informed perspective.
Her professional background includes over 10 years working with children and adolescents, particularly those with special needs or disabilities, as well as adults and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She has experience supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma and abuse, family and relationship concerns, communication difficulties, self-esteem, sensory concerns, suicidal thoughts and self-harm, emotional regulation, spirituality/faith, and life transitions.
As both a trauma survivor and someone who has participated in her own trauma therapy, Beth believes that our past experiences can profoundly impact us without us even realizing it. She believes that exploring previous or current traumas can often provide insight into why we feel the way we do and why we respond the way we do. Beth enjoys helping clients understand how trauma can affect the body, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building tools and strategies that support healing and growth.
Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), play therapy, and other trauma-informed interventions.
Beth primarily provides telehealth services, with some in person services.
