Darlene Meiners is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-III) with more than 40 years of experience serving children, adolescents, adults, and families. Since 1983, she has worked with children and families in a variety of professional roles, bringing compassion, creativity, and practical support to every stage of life. She has been providing psychotherapy since 2015 and is the founder and owner of Oak Tree Child and Family Services.
Darlene considers herself an Eclectic Behavioral Therapist, believing that every individual and family is unique. She integrates a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's strengths, needs, and goals. She specializes in working with young children beginning at 2½ years of age, while also providing counseling for adolescents, adults, parents, and families. Her passion is helping people navigate life's challenges, strengthen relationships, build resilience, and discover hope.
Darlene believes healing happens through genuine connection, compassion, and meeting people where they are. She is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where every client feels heard, valued, and empowered to move forward with confidence and hope.
Outside of work:
Outside of the office, Darlene's greatest joy is spending time with her family. She has been happily married for many years and is the proud mother of three amazing children, all of whom are married to wonderful spouses she affectionately calls her "bonus children." She is also a proud grandmother to two sweet grandchildren and enjoys adventures with her beloved dog, Greta.
When she's not working, you'll likely find Darlene traveling, camping, boating, fishing, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs (Go Chiefs!), watching NASCAR or the Brewers, creating crafts, or simply making memories with the people she loves most.
